Cefalù is located in the province of Palermo along Sicily’s northern coast. It is a small town with a population of about 10,000 and has been inhabited for more than 3,000 years. It’s Arab, Norman, and Greek rule have all helped to shape the town into what it is today. La rocca, which the Greeks believed to look like a giant head, gave it’s name to the city and is open to hikers year round. The ancient town, an archaic Temple believed to have been devoted to Diana, and the ancient castle ruins are all open to visitors today.
